floss color matching

im trying to figure out what j&p coats col.00292 matches to with dmc. i cant find a chart past 275. can yall help me?

Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I'm sorry that I can't help you with the specific conversion you are looking for. This Floss Conversion Chart is one of the better ones I know of, but doesn't have any number like you listed for JP Coats. Either the chart is too old, or the number has been discontinued. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? The next best option might be to match the color yourself as best you can. The DMC website has a downloadable Embroidery Floss Color Card that might be helpful to you. Someone may be more familiar with JP Coats may be better able to help.

So far as I can see, J & P Coates are the UK manufacturer that make Anchor floss ( http://www.makeitcoats.com/en-us).
292 is Golden Yellow, extra light = DMC 3078 (Golden Yellow, Extra Light)
118 is Blue Violet, Medium = DMC 340 (Blue Violet, Medium)

I cannot find the other colours.

292 is a brown. 938 dmc is close enff that you almost cant tell. its just a tad shiniyer then j&p.

no way it can be yellow my project is red,drk red,black,brown,purple,green,lite brown,lite gray and dark gray.

Must be one of their other brands. Shame they don't use the same numbering system for all their brands.
