Band Sampler

Post by ceekay46 »

Hi there, this is the band sampler I have been working on for the past 3 weeks but I am getting a bit bored of it. It is called the Hemstress Band and has a lot of drawn thread work finished in hemstitch variations. I still have about a third to go but I am not sure whether to bother or not. Mostly because I do not know what to do with something this long and thin. Any suggestions welcome

Carol

Beautiful work! Maybe fringe or tassel the bottom and do a traditional door hanger?

Very very pretty stitching and I agree with Jarvis, it would make a wonderful door hanger or banner!!

But that is simply lovely! And the drawn threadwork is excellent! It could be a bellpull if you find nice enough ends to complement it, of course. It would be a lovely long picture. Don't give up NOW!! :wip: :wip: :wip:

This is gorgeous! I'd love to see a close-up of that part in the middle that forms a rectangle -- of drawn threads I assume? This would make a beautiful bell pull. Don't give up!

Yes I'd love to see a close up. It looks wonderful! I think it could be used for a lot of things, something that beautiful!

I will take a close up of it tomorrow if I can. I was a bit worried about doing it because the instructions were a bit vague. I was not sure when to cut the threads because it was not the same as hardanger where the threads are sealed in by the long stitches. Still I managed it and I was quite pleased with it in the end
