OMG- I need an intervention !

Post by wwdiva »

Went to my wonderful closet of all my stitching and crafting treasures only to discover that someone (couldnt possibly be me) has filled it with charts and kits in quantities far greater than I can possibly ever complete. What ever will I do with the new ones I have ordered. The world wide web has not been a good thing for me and yet my family someday will make a mint on eBay no doubt.

I agree with Marilyn (Stitchinkitty) there is never too much stash. We all need to live to be at least 100 to use up even part of what we have stowed away.

Just relax and enjoy it all knowing you will never be short of something to do - ever.

Would you believe that my stitchy stuff only takes up a small corner of my living room? A stitching box, a shoebox, a large and small thread box though I do need another one of those and a magazine holder. Oh let's not forget the 85 magazines stashed under the bed but that's it :)

The only intervention given here is for those who DON'T have stash. Inside of a week starting the craft and this site, I have enough stuff to do 'til I'm a hundred years old. :D

wwdiva, it's called SABLE
Stash

Life
Expectancy!

I've done it in two separate hobbies. One lifetime in stitching left and I'm a 2.5er in scale modelling.

Don't ask me why I did this but a few days ago I did a few calculations using various spreadsheets I keep...

- I average about 450 stitches a day on my HAED.
- The total stitch count of my bought HAED charts is about 8.1 million.
- If I stitch every day it will take me about 50 years to do all my HAED.
- My HAEDs make up 20% of the charts I own (a chart is considered a single item in the list - so a complete magazine is considered 1 chart)
- My HAEDs make up 10% of the projects I own (charts and kits together)

Based on those numbers I need 300-400 years (not everything I own is as large as a HAED!) from now, stitching every single day, to complete my current stash.
