That is beautiful. I love the Assisi style of stitching it really works with the varigated threads I think.

I have my pattern all set out as I want it to look. Hope it stitches as good as the pattern looks. I used the virtual stitch and I like it but sometimes the actual stitching is a bit off from the virtual.

:applesauce: to Wendy for starting. :applesauce: to Jilly for completing hers so quickly. It's lovely.
On behalf of myself being a first-timer (and anyone else who might be slightly intimidated), are we sure that there are no preconceived ideas as to levels of proficiency and skill? *sweaty palms and nervous giggle*
I have started mine but I have another chart on standby in case I'm not happy with the results.

... feeling more than just slightly intimidated here Carolyn!
Made a start on mine last night, have still got a few decisions to make on the design, but as usual will sort it out as I go

Have fun everyone!

I chose this design for Agi as I know she likes birds a lot, it was not at all hard to do, the back stitching was very long-winded, but other than that it was very quick and easy, especially as I had no colour changes to think about.

ps- I did try designing one, it was a complete non starter, I am a no designer

You're not alone Jilly, mine isn't really a design as such. It will consist of idea's/small charts I glean from magazine patterns rather than anything just from scratch out of my head.

I just hope it turns out how I picture it at the moment.

This really is fun isn't it ... in a terrified kind of way!

Jilly, that's lovely, and the variegated thread works so well with Assisi work, it gives it an extra dimension -- so effective! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

...and quick! *hasn't even started yet, though the fabric is in the hoop, which is encouraging :-)*

Gave mine a start last night. Not an original this time as I found a little thing in one of my magazines that I thought would be great on a card. Just had to rearange a few things to make everything fit in the small size. Well and I added some text.

Jilly, I am really amazed! The piece is simply wonderful, and you are so thoughtful... It brings tears in my eyes to know that you were really trying to find something that I would love... Oh, I am overwhelmed! Thank you so much!

(I am bit shaky today anyway, I have just arrived home from school - the very last day, the farewell ceremony and all that. I didn't cry, because the kids made me promise, and whenever they saw I was close to tears they dropped one of their usual jokes, and I had to laugh. I came home with about 5 huge bunches of flower!)

How wonderful. You have touched their lives forever and they are so sweet to acknowledge it. So many times we just take it for granted that the person knows how much they mean to us. Great Job Agi :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Aww, Agi, sounds like you have lovely students who appreciated what a wonderful teacher you were to them! Hope the tears were at least partly happy tears (((hug)))

hehe how well you know me ^_^ Lop rabbits melt my heart, but really I like anything except creepy crawlies :P And I'm deathly scared of arachnids :P

I'm downloading that pc pro stitch at work right now. Something this small I reckon I can design in 12 hours then copy it over to paint so I can save it :P Nooooooow what animal to stitch next........
