I spent today dragging my Husband and two young children around antique shops looking for an old fashioned sewing table. I've just ordered 100 skeins and I already have 100. My hobby is growing far to large and I hate having bit's everywhere.
Well.....I couldn't find one and some of them are really expensive with hardly no space.
I didn't really want a cantilever box but they do provide the best amount of storage and I didn't want a new one, I like a bit of character.......so this is what I got....
Got it for £19.99 off ebay. Well happy!

"The world, as a colourful knot of threads, has turned into a memory, and now you cannot be sure whether it was real." (Géza Ottlik, Hungarian writer)
That looks exactly like my mom's sewing box. Of course your is a little neater as all of her kids liked to play with it so it's got a lot of "character" now.
current project rotation:
Twilight Balloon Flight
The Accolade
Faces of Faery 89
Dad's Flower Pot
Oh that is wonderful!! I would love something for all my stash - especially as our cats have really taken to sleeping on top of my bags now!! Fantastic find!!
Many years ago cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.
ooohhh.. ahhh.. that box is beautiful **wondering how I can find the time to search a few antique shops around here** Currently all my stitchy items are in a canvas grocery bag that I keep in a closet. But this one is certainly pretty enough to leave out.. and easy to get at all the little things that hide at the bottom of my bag.
