A Thought about Chart Swap 2
Just a thought really. I can't find the original post about the thoughts for the next chart swap but I seem to recall that we had an idea about streamlining the whole process. As the post from continent to continent takes for ever, we did suggest doing swaps in Europe and the US separately didn't we. ( I haven't forgotten Aus or NZ!!)
BUT, I know how interesting it is to get charts from other areas, so I wondered if we could put up with the delays with the post and keep to the same system.
What does everyone else think?

I do enjoy the old system myself,of posting overseas and if it's just uk & europe it would be the same sort of charts,We could always have a list who wants to do which have two options ,Those who only want to post 'locally and those who want to do it internationally or even do both ....keep it interesting. But that's just my opinions.
But has the other charts arrived yet?they were last with Jodie??

I think a really good idea would be, rather than isolating the chart swaps to single continents, it would be more expedient to organise the order of delivery based on the continents. ie. First send to everyone in the US, then NZ and Australia, Europe and then back to the US again. That's just a thought, really saves everyone on postage too.

I took part in my first swap just recently. Basically, everybody who wants to take part puts the'ir name down on a list. Then say my name is top, I start and put all my unwanted chats in a package and post to the next person on the list. They then take out any (or all if they want) charts thet want and replace the number they took out, you can add more if you want, but you have to replace at least as many as you remove. Then you post to the next person on the list. The last person on the list then sends back to me, the originator of the swap.Rock Chick wrote:I'm completely new to this. Could someone explain it to me please? Is it the same pattern that gets posted on, or is it a different one to each person?
All charts have to be originals, no copies.
As for the swap issues, I really don't mind.

My idea was to try to organize the charts so they went all over say the US first then to England then France then Australia and New Zealand and then back to the US this way they didn't have to make so many trips back and forth over the water. It was the water trips that made them takes so long. But I don't care how we do it it is just fun to see what different stuff comes when it comes.
Are we going to start a new one soon. Coffee-Freak was the one waiting for the charts to get back to her and she has been very busy so I don't know if she has recieved them or not.

I just had a thought tonight that we could still do both and rotate the continent that posts first. Ie If it starts in say Uk, then Europe, then Aus/Asia, then Us, then back to US. The next swap start from a completely different place, and mix the postal order so we get different charts. That way we'd still be getting a mix, but quicker swaps, which is lets face it the way to getting more stash!!
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Ernie2jess and Rock Chick,
The chart swap goes like this.,,,,Someone picks a # of patterns that they do not want any more they can be charts, books. kits, or magazines. The only requirement is they are the original pattern, no copies and the sender does Not keep any copies.
The first person asks who wants to be apart of a swap. Everyone signs there name to a post and that is the order that they are sent unless other arrangements are made. The first person sends to the next name on the list once the person recieves the parcel then that person looks at the patterns decides what they want to keep and what they are willing to send on to the next name. If you take out 2 you have to put in 2 if you take out 6 you have to put in 6 if you take out 0 you don't have to put any in but you can add more to the stash if you want to. Just don't short the package. Then it goes to the next person. We also really like it when the person recieves the package and when they send it off if they would post a note in the thread so we can keep track of were it is and who is next. So it goes down the list until the last name is hit then the last person on the list sends it back to the original chart swap starter. This way the whole list gets a chance at new patterns and it only cost the price of postage.

So who wants to take the plunge and be first on the list?
I don't have anytime to go throught mine right now but I would love to include my name when the list gets started.
Also I can put the list up as an annoucement until the swap is over so we don't loss the thread and we can keep track of who is next and who is sending.
