New but old stitcher

Post by frankattleborough »

New to the Forum, but an old stitcher in both senses of the word. I joined as I needed some help, and wow did I get it!! (Thanks again Willow). I was taught well by my late wife and have carried on with some projects where she left off.

When I find out how to do it (please someone tell me) I will post a picture of a large project she had just started and I finished. :?

Hi Frank, I download the picture from my camera to a site like 'photobucket' and then you can copy and paste it. I am not very good at explaining it  but I am sure someone will be able to help you more, as when i joined everyone was really helpful as I am not very computer literate
Look forward to seeing a pic :D

Hello Frank and welcome again -- you'll find we have several other male stitchers here, including our very own celebrity Mr XStitch (see his blog and the Cross Stitcher website), but really we just welcome anyone of whatever gender or nationality or food preference (chocolate, TBear? Coffee, C_F?) as long as they love cross stitch :-)!

Whoops, just realised that that could sound unkind -- wasn't meant that way  . I just meant that we are always ready with advice, and if any of us has found out a new or useful or different way of doing anything, we're always ready to share!

What Mabel REALLY means is that we just jump in where angels fear to tread in hopes we can help out. Usually it works...

A belated welcome from the West of Scotland! :P

Ok, I've got it in photobucket, but how do I get it out of there and into here. Can see a number of sites to share it with, but not this one. I am not tearing what little hair I have out yet, but it won't be long before I do!!!

This is how i do it; Open the picture in a full page. Right click on it with the right mouse button and choose the properties option. Where it says address high light the text and right click then choose 'copy'. Close that page and open the forum. Go to the thread you want to post in. Choose reply as normal. Write what you want to then leave a space. Above where you choose the colour of your text there is a button that says 'Img' click this once. Put your mouse just in front of the [ Img] bit that's appeared. Right click and choose 'Paste' Then click the '/Img' button again. Now submit your post like normal. And voila! One picture in your post. I hope this is clear enough and not too complicated.

Also a belated hello and welcome :D
