The Stash And Grab

Post by MrXStitch »

Hello and welcome to the Stash and Grab - the world's number one favourite pub on a cross stitch forum! :applesauce:

Watch your head on the low beams as you enter! "Duck or Grouse" says the sign that many people bounce their bonces off... :doh:

As you can see, you can order any drink imagineable (apart from the PanGalactic Gargleblaster, which is a recipe for disaster) and then enjoy it in the comfort of our seats and sofas.
Observe how the seats are all equipped with adjustable lights for ease of stitching and the arms have pincushions on them to make life easier. Many of the chairs also have heat and massage function - fret not, we will wake you if you fall asleep in them.

We have cabaret on the third Saturday of each month, and bingo on Tuesday afternoons!

So come, enjoy! May the air be filled with irrelevant and irreverent banter! :toast:

Morning Barkeep!
I'll have a whisky mac please. That's right, a 50/50 mix on the rocks. Good man.

I'm just gonna sit by the fireplace and fiddle with my bobbins.
(They let you get away with that sort of thing here!)

My first question to the regulars here is:

What shall we call the pub?

The Cross Stitch Arms is a bit obvious, so get your wits out and find a better name.

"The Eternal WIP"?

:thinks:

How about the "Stitch In Time"? And you could have cocktails called Algerian Eye or Stitch Ripper or Light Effect.

Or perhaps we could call the pub Thread Heaven, though you may fall foul of the brand name laws there. Or "The Needle's Praise", which you could spell as Prayse to look Olde Worlde.

Perhaps "I'll Just Finish This Colour And Then I'm Coming Straight Home Darling, I Promise" would be the most accurate name...

As for the sign to warn you of imminents bumps -- how about "Mind your HAED" :-)?

Finally a great place to relax. You got to the Stash and Grab before me.... but what shall the sign have on it? The van (obviously) and what?...

Or it could be called
the Floss and Quarter
Cocoa's Rest?
The Final Stitch?
(I rather like the Green Dragon, but it's been taken...)

Probably a shot of Dazbo (who appears to have zen-like stash finding powers) gleefully rubbing his hands together.

Stash and Grab it is!

But I really wanted a pangalactic gargleblaster! Haven't had one of those since I last met Ford Prefect at the restaurant at the end of the universe...

Oh, well! Make it a nice hot cocoa then; I don't like hot chocolate - too milky and too sweet! Green & Black's cocoa... you do have it in stock, I hope?

Now... about those comfy chairs... (makes a bee-line for one near the fire).

oh yeah now ya'll are talkin'!

I'll have bacardi and diet coke..on the rocks..with a straw..a bendy one..LOL

i have my stitchin' bag but I can't promise i could stitch a straight line..lol

so i'll flip through a mag or two..

what kinda food we have in here? in the US normal bar food..(wow I wish they'd call 'em Pubs here) well..don't think they serve food here in the US bars..except the lemons and limes that are shoved into the beer bottles..or licked after a shot of whatever you like.

i've been in a pub or three..and I love that much more than the typical US bar..

*pouts*

Angel's going to lower the tone immensely, but you did say any drink :P

Angel will take a screaming orgasm please and thank you. *snuggles on the comfy chair near the fire with magazines and a project to stitch after she's finished reading.

* 1 part Vodka
* 1/2 part Kahlua
* 1 1/2 parts Baileys® irish cream

Really nice with a layer of squirty cream to finish it off :P
