New on here

Post by Bontanique »

I stumbled across this site whilst lookies for freebies and thought joining a site with fellow stitchers would be a great idea. I do a lot of cross stitching both for a hobby and for charity. Any new ideas for things that are quick and easy to do for charity would be welcome as I am getting a little bored with cards now.

Hope to chat to you all soon.

Nice to meet you! I'm new here myself. I have a book called "Luvable Pets" that I'm using to try and make some coasters for a local animal rescue. Have you tried making coasters at all? It does make the object a bit more expensive because of the materials though. Unless anyone has any ideas on how to get coaster materials cheaply? Anyways, the patterns are very small and quick to stitch.

Is it the patterns you're using that you're tired of? Or just cards in general? I'd never heard of biscornus before joining here and they are certainly beautiful. I don't know how quick they are though, they look complicated to me! :)

Hello and welcome to the forum. :wavesback:

I think the bookmark idea is a good one. :thinks: Or how about coasters, or even little pot porri sachets. (sorry not sure how you spell it  )

Welcome from the West of Scotland!

Don't forget the marketability of keyrings (especially as stocking stuffers), as well as little "humbugs", perhaps stuffed with something nice? Quick and uses up little oddments of thread and fabric.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Stitching for charity is an excellent idea! There's actually quite a few charity stitchers on here, so I'm sure you'll find a lot of help on the subject ^_^
