I haven't been here for awhile...

Post by crossstitchpro »

Sorry I haven't been around for several weeks. I had so much canning, freezing, and berry picking to do, something had to give. Also, life was getting sort of stressful in general. It also rained for 3 1/2 weeks in August. In those 3 1/2 weeks, there were only 3 days where it didn't rain. That's enough to get anyone discouraged.

Well, the freezer is full and the cupboards are full of canned veggies, jellies, and pickles. The garden is starting to slow down. It's sunny and warm again. Lovely early fall weather. :D

Anyway, I'm trying to prioritize(spelling?) my life and cut down on stress...so...I plan to stop by at least once or twice a week, and not feel guilty about not being here every day.

I've been able to get some stitching done. Even made a very nice no-sew flat fold!
Check things out in my WIP album:

I've got several pieces I need to finish before I start stitching another. Will keep you posted.

Great to see you again! :D
You've been really busy by the sounds of things!
I can't imagine all the work that goes into canning, jellying and pickling etc as I've never actually done it, but hearing about it always makes it sound a fun thing in the sense you have a wonderful achievement at the end of it.

Well! I know where I'm going to hibernate this winter! What a feast you have put up. That's fabulous. Can sympathise about rotten weather. We've had more than twice the average rainfall for August, and only about half the sunshine. Not good for peas and beans. :(

Look in when you can. The CS forum isn't about adding stress!

Hi Lori,

Nice to see you again. Love the flatfold - must try that sometime.

Sorry to hear about the stress, and you have also been very busy canning etc, I'm afraid I don't do that sort of thing but I bet everything tastes much nicer than shop-bought stuff.

No stress here, just visit when you can, we are always pleased to see you.

Welcome back Lori. It doesn't take being away for very long before it seems like forever doesn't it? Just goes to show you what a special and unique gathering of people this group represents. But not to worry, aside from the task of catching up, one is always welcomed back with loving "hugs". Despite all common sense that would argue differently, virtual hugs can be just as comforting, caring, sincere and heart felt as physical hugs. Drop your worries, at least for a bit, and join in with the family. We're open 24/7 and available, no appointment necessary. We're glad you're back.

Thanks for all your kind words...it does a body good! :D

One reason I can food, freeze, dry, etc is because I get such satisfaction out of it and it also saves $$$. (once you've accumulated all the equipment! I've spent 20 years buying things here and there.) Also, I just can't see letting free berries that grow in the wild go to waste. :D

Have a great weekend everyone.
