Love your hardanger pieces Serinde they are gorgeous and what a neat idea to use beads rather than colonial knots. Well Done on both. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Looking forward to your pics cairee, and thanks for your comment about the May design - I was quite pleased myself with how it turned out, it's difficult to tell what it will really look like until you stitch it!

Oooh, real spangles, love it! And your colour combination must be one of the most striking in the Gallery - what an inspired idea to use black and gold with that vivid fabric.

I'm sorry the chain stitch was such a pain :-( - Did you work it in Kreinik throughout? The end result is pretty stunning as usual!
Thanks for the heads up about the thread sizes - I really should have known on 32ct...

Here is my White On Colour version of Round Five:

Image

I'm afraid Round Six still won't be on time as we're having our holiday first, a relaxing week in a friend's house in Brittany (trying not to worry about fuel :-) )

Very pretty, Mabel. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: Really stands out against that fabric.

Hope you enjoy your well earned holiday. 8)
We're further south from Brittany and our fuel is restricted! Only allowed €30 fuel at a time last Wednesday and it looks like the strikes are going to get worse. Saw this morning that the railways are joining in!

Mabel, this is lovely.

Hope Brittany is trouble free, although I hear that the Air France pilots are coming out, too, in case anyone is thinking of France for a June holiday... Perhaps all the families on half-term holidays (England, that is) won't be able to get back... As for the football tournament, well!

They should all be in sunny (west) Scotland! :sun: :hot: :sun:

Here is my Round 5 one - never have I taken so long or frogged so much to get it done.

Image

I have not put in beads as it is due in the post tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I did enjoy it in spite of the problems of positioning the curves and I would use the stitches again but in a square or linear way.

Done on 25 ct Lugana Moss Green. Using DMC 5 unknown it is a lemon muted orange varigation. Fancy stitches and border done in DMC 352 & 353 also the Greek crosses using these 2. The bars are DMC 382 a very soft lemon

Thanks for looking.
