I suppose we're obligated to give you a but I can't say we can really condemn a new LNS...maemae0410 wrote:I dont know if I am on offical member of this thread but I will come for my tounge lashing anyway. Maemae0410,
I don't recall that you are on the latest list, but you just got added and, by my count, put yourself on a 90-day austerity plan right out of the gate. That's a tough way to start. You're simply going to have to suck it up, keep the credit card in your purse, and, instead of driving all over the country to visit LNSs, stay home and actually try to use some of that thread for something productive. Other than photos of what you've stitched, it seems that we won't be hearing about any Maemae shopping expeditions until sometime in July. That's a long haul. Hope you got maximum enjoyment out of this week's trip.

Sorry I missed your question earlier.carolanne wrote:I'm curious Rose, what do you use to paint fabric?
I used this brand of fabric paint. You can get it at Joann's or Michael's.
But you can us this link to find a cheaper alternative and make your own.

I'm surprised he survived the squissorscairee wrote:my dog destroyed my squissors (for some reason he survived my wrath)
I know you are all being terribly strict here, which is the whole point of it, isn't it, so I suppose replacements for dog-eaten squissors still count...

Re: April Reports: The CF Stitch-From-Stash Challenge
I spent money today.
I don't know if it counts as stash, but I'll put it here just in case it does.
After reading Afdish's excellent tutorial on How to make your own Q-Snap "grime-guard" I went to Dunelm and bought two metres of cotton fabric and elastic so I could make my own. I did have a look through my fabric to see if I had any that was suitable, but they were all too heavy, having been bought for making cushion covers and curtains.
This is what I bought. (The girls chose a pattern each).
and I have just made this
It's quite lumpy at the front as the fabric is nearly 4 feet across!! Here's the back of it. You can see all the excess fabric tucked in.
That's it for expenditure in April. £1.60 in elastic and £5.99 x 2 for 2 separate metres of fabric. I make that £13.58 altogether. I did actually have enough elastic to make the grime-guards, but I want to make some Scroll bar covers (hence the extra fabric!)

Gary..... hey Gary you should be so proud of me I went to my stitching meet and although my friend who has an internet business and she brought in the new Mill Hill kits I did not succumb to the temptation and came home with 0 new stash. I did not even order the Ott light I wanted. Se I am being a very good girl!!!!!!!

Nice Job! I think you should get extra credit for making them instead of buying them.

Re: April Reports: The CF Stitch-From-Stash Challenge
can I join this thread? I think it is what I need!
I know I am rapidly reaching the point where I will not be able to complete all the kits that I own BUT I just cant help myself! I love adding to my stash AND I buy 95% of my kits from ebay that are vintage, so when I see something I like I HAVE to buy it, otherwise I might not see it again? *looks up at her halo*
This month I have bought two kits (from the same seller, so no wasted postage), they are both vintage and divine ...I am also working on a project that I have had going for months (a wedding sampler for DH and I) I am determined to finish it before the end of the year! Will put up pictures soon (Having some trouble as I am writing from my iPad )

Wow!! That's some real will power. Huge tip of the cap for resisting that. I fear I would have caved to the temptation.Rose wrote: Gary..... hey Gary you should be so proud of me I went to my stitching meet and although my friend who has an internet business and she brought in the new Mill Hill kits I did not succumb to the temptation and came home with 0 new stash. Re: April Reports: The CF Stitch-From-Stash Challenge
This is where I am at right now and I am hoping to finish it before end of April. I just looked at my pile of UFOs and WIPs. There are lots so I shouldn't have a problem to stitch from my stash. The only item that I would need is DMC threads whenever I run out to finish my stitching.
