Reborn Stitch Addict

Post by AllStitchedUp »

I have picked up cross stitching again after 15 or so years off... So glad to have found this site, I'm really looking forward to sharing my work and picking up new tips and tricks. I am located near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I'm starting off with some beginner pieces and working my way up to the more challenging patterns. I most enjoy fairies and animals, but will work on just about anything.

Nice to "meet" everyone!
Enjoy!

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! And welcome back to stitching! We will love looking at your work, we really love pictures. Looking forward to seeing your fairies and animals. I love stitching fairies, though I don't have any in progress now, I have several kitted up and ready to go. Be warned that we are horrible enablers and love to encourage stash acquisition and are skilled at feeding the cross stitch addiction.

Welcome to the forum! I took 10 years off after my first project, then picked it up again in 2010 and haven't put it down since ( except when life gets busy and forces me to!). Hope to see some of your work! My perspective changed this second time around. With my first project I focused on how long it was taking to finish and it frustrated me that it was such a slow hobby. Now I enjoy the journey more than the destination as they say!

Welcome from Boston MA!! It won't take long before you start buying everything and building your stash of patterns, threads and fabrics. So much has changed from 20 plus years ago when I was cross stitching. HAED patterns are unbelievable and addictive!! Do let us know when you end up getting one.

Same here...unless I am making something with a deadline (gift) I am not concerned with how long it takes. I'm slow and I'm good with that. And since I joined this forum, I've also decided it's okay to have several projects going (although I do sometimes feel like I'm cheating on them).

I too, am back into stitching after quilting/scrapbooking/rubber stamping...and find it much more relaxing and enjoyable. I have even gotten some of my close friends to start it up again. My sister actually got me going after taking her to a needlework shop. I was amazed at all the NEW designers that have been around for 30 years...ha ha Now I am hooked and loving it! I love to do miniatures and very small count, but not large projects. 3-D is also one of my favorites! Does anyone here also love "Just Nan"??

Same here, I am definitely loving all the new designs and internet is great for accessing new fabrics, specialty threads, etc. I'm loving the new challenges of some more difficult patterns and metallic and beads!
Enjoy!
