Bohin needles were who to buy from

Post by Lorna »

I want to buy Bohin needles but cannot find a supplier in the UK and if I have to order from the US then I need to buy in bulk so I don.t need to buy again for a while. Can anyone say we're is best to buy from price and reliability wise please.

The site Scarlet Quince had was Anitas Little Stitches.. but they are based in the US.
I did see on the Bohin site a little spot that you could fill in your info and they would get back to you with local suppliers. http://www.bohin.fr/en/pageLibre00010c4c.html" target="_blank

Still having trouble even with the John James?
Have you thought of a different threader- a wire type instead of a hook?

Hi do you live in the UK and did you have to pay import tax on them as this is a concern to me?

I have tried the wire threaded but do not like them until recently I did not have a problem but recently all my needles are breaking.

The Bohin website says to drop them an email and they'll find your local shop for you: http://www.bohin.fr/en/pageLibre00010c4c.html" target="_blank" target="_blank.

Or you could try here: http://www.contentedcat.co.uk/" target="_blank" target="_blank. They stock Bohin products but it's unclear whether they stock the needles. You could ring them and enquire about their supplier.

Good luck! :shamrock: :x:

Re customs fees and charges - just because you don't get charged for something once, don't assume that will always be the case! I had two packages in one week from US - both marked as gift (though technically they weren't :D ) and both under the £36 amount, one I had to pay duty on the other I didn't .............

Just in case you need to know Lorna - anything over £15 ($23ish) VAT @ 20% will be charged on it plus the flat Royal Mail handling fee of £8. Anything over £135 VAT and customs duty will be due on it - all info here. As I say whether you get charged or not is a bit hit or miss :D !

I have phoned The Contented Cat and they are going to try to source some Bohin needles for the UK but they need some stock numbers (to make it a little easier for them when ordering)off of the back of the packet of needles .I asked about size 24,26 and 28 needles as these are the most popular sizes.
Can anyone please let me have this info so all of us in the UK will be able to source then locally,
