OT: One bad thing after another

This has been the week from hell for my brother and I. Sunday night my brother got pulled over and found out his license had been suspended, so the van was impounded. We got it out on Christmas Eve and things were going okay. However, I had checked to see if I had enough money to help out with the impound fee and discovered that my unemployment check was $40 instead of $400, so I no longer have any real income to put toward bills.

Then yesterday I went to go deliver the truffles I made to my BFF while she was at work. I was driving about 40 mph when a guy rear-ended me out of nowhere. Spent the afternoon in the ER in order to get checked out. No broken bones, but I have muscle relaxers for my cervical paraspinal muscle spasm. They had me take one of them while I was there so my mom wasn't able to drop me off at the van which we had parked at a nearby grocery store, so it was left there overnight. We did swing past to grab the GPS from it last night so that there wouldn't be anything valuable in there. Which is good because when we went to pick it up this afternoon the sliding door window had been stolen. Nothing else was missing.

It's like life decided to take a big ol' dump on us this week. Needless to say, we were going to go visit our dad and step-mom and her sisters next weekend for Christmas, but we don't have the money for that now. Especially as the ticket my brother got on Sunday is going to be about $300.

Oh wow this is just not your week at all.

My hubby has a saying that is appropriate for this.

I am so sorry that you had such an awful week. I hope you are feeling better now and that things in general improve all round for you very soon. I think Rose's husband's saying is perfect. I think it would make a great cross stitch to go on one of my walls, for sure.

That stinks Brandi and not at all fair. I hope you have queried your unemployment benefit change of amount? Thank goodness you weren't hurt when that idiot rear ended your van.

My dad always said everything happens in three so on the bright side at least you won't have anymore car troubles for a while. Hope everything works out! I hate money stuff, it's the worst when you're expecting a big check and get a small one instead. Feel better soon!
