Hello,
I am a not very experienced Cross Stitcher and about to start on Maggie the Messmaker, which I bought on Ebay. It looks frightening but I just love the picture. My first query, if anybody would be kind enough to tell me, is that the canvas has deep creases where it has been folded - is it ok to iron it?

Yes, it is fine but I wouldn't untill I had finished the pattern. That is a lovely design.

I usually give it a rough ironing before starting because the crease sometimes changes my stitches a bit.

Welcome to the Forum.
I don't usually iron out the creases, just fold them the opposite way which often flattens them out a bit. I have, however, ironed really "tight" creases out by damping them slightly then ironing over it - or laying a dampened tea towel over the crease then ironing it.

Hi and welcome I don't usualy do anything with mine until I have finished stitching then I wash and press my piece.
