Thank you, Richard. I am very proud of myself, indeed. It wasn't an easy job for sure, but I just love the result. Couldn't have done it without your charting program.richardandtracy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:48 am Looks absolutely superb. I do hope you are proud of yourself for doing this so beautifully.

Re: Confetti and changing thread
Having just finished my corgi-project, which was very confetti heavy, I tried different methods dealing with it. What worked for me in the end was a maximum of 5 needles threaded at the same time, at least 2 needle minders, some parking, lots of pin-stitches to start and end threads, and stitching o...

Re: Dogs - it's a finish!
I am so sorry it took me so long to return here.
But... it's a finish! After a little more than 2 years the project is done and I am so happy with the result.
Once it is framed, the piece will move to my parents.

The stocking looks amazing. The penguin has such a fun expression and all those bright colours look very festive. You have put a lot of work into it and it shows. Well done!

I'd never heard of Wrendale Designs until I came across your thread recently, but their patterns look great. So realistic, and you have done such a great job on stitching them.

Re: Dogs - update nov 2018
Thank you all for your kind words! I cannot wait to continue stitching on it, but at moment I do lack the concentration I need to work on it (stupid cold). :( Luckily there are lots of small projects to work on. And I have to say, that Doggie looks a very Happy Chappie  She was a very happy dog...

Re: Dogs - update nov 2018
Well, it might be time for an update on the "dogs project". After not touching the project for a couple of months, I started working on it again in September. The little hoop kept bothering me, as I often wasn't able to finish a length of thread within the hoop area. By the end of Septembe...

Re: Dogs
I do not blame the program for the amount of confetti. If I would do it again, with the knowledge I have now, I would either use an image editor to smooth the sky (less purple and green) and ground, or decrease the colour space divisions for those parts (but not for the dogs, as they need the amount...

Re: A New Chart Making Program. Update 21 Feb 2018
Richard, That is quite a list. In my opinion, points no. 2 (chart overlap) and 5 (ruler) could be useful, but are not a necessity. Allowing the user to chose a fabric colour from a list of known fabric colours seems to be a lot of work for what you get (with changing collections and many brands). I ...

Re: Dogs
A short update on the project: I started stitching on February 1, and really had to get used to the 18 ct fabric. Luckily it's going better now, although I still have some tension issues. Also I needed to experiment with needle sizes and brands, as the combination of needle and aida were hard on the...

Re: Ending thread
Here also under 3, back over 1 and under 2 most of the time. Sometimes I vary the number of stitches, depending on the fabric and how the piece will be used (framed, pillow case, etc)
I have never tried a pin stitch, but am curious and may give it a try.

Re: A New Chart Making Program. Update 28 Nov 2017
There are a few other things I noticed: -when closing the 'convert picture to thread colours' window by clicking on the red cross in the upper right corner, instead of using the OK or cancel buttons, the window will close, but the program also stops working (not responding-message for >30min). -the ...
