I've had surprisingly good results using a no-name gold metallic sewing thread that I got a local dollar store. The strands are slightly finer than normal floss, but it looks pretty decent.

I've tried posting a few times in a few other sections on this forum, but even after waiting a few days for my posts to be approved, they never show up.

Am I limited to the "Welcome" section for my first few posts? If so, it would have been much less frustrating to have been told that.

Does anyone know where I can find paintings that have been converted to cross stitch charts? The only patterns I've been able to track down have been, Starry night, Girl with a pearl earring and Mona Lisa.

Alternatively, what's the best software for converting pictures to patterns?
