Beatrix Potter 'The Tailor of Gloucester'

This is how far I've come on the Tailor. Stitching white on white so my eyes are like  but once I've started the mouse it will look better. Trying to show white stitches clearly is a nightmare as they don't photograph that well!

Some light grey in there as well, I think? Great start, and you're getting the strenuous stuff out of the way first :-)

After stitching the two baby samplers with varying shades of white and beige and tan you have my empathy regarding the white and gray stitches you have done. A great start to what I am sure is going to be a wonderful project. Can't wait to see your updates!

I stitched this many years ago when it was available as a kit. I used antique white evenweave and I still remember the same on same threads and fabric.
My friend had bought the kit and there were 3 identical charts in it. The threads were in two bundles and it took us several hours to sort them. :tizzy:
As a thank you she gave me one of the charts and I then bought the threads as they had been helpfully numbered.
You've made a great start. :applesauce:

You've made a great start, even with the white on white. Ugh! But it will be worth it.

It is definitely going to be a work of art once it is finished. Top marks for stitching white on white - but do take care of your eyes and don't over work them too much. :)

He is fabulous!!!!! How do you manage to get so much stitching done? I'm not even working at the moment and I barely get anything done. I think I must have poor time management skills. :-)

Honestly Debby I am a really slow stitcher! My friend can stitch a Wrendale in 2 weeks and I can barely do one in 2 months! Everyone is different and it doesn't matter about how fast we are as long as we love it! ;)

Absolutely! And The Tailor’s mouse is looking very Edwardian already. :)

Oh, he is coming along beautifully and beautifully stitched as always Nicola.

I have the Calendar of charts too and I'm trying to decide who I can stitch Peter Rabbit and Mrs Tiggywinkle for. :?
