I can’t find my original thread so I have to start a new one. (I think when the forum experienced it’s long downtime, things have been lost or hidden. I’ve had absolutely no luck in searching for my older posts. Disappointing but oh well.)
This is design:
This is where I am:

Brought a smile to my face, just remembering all the fun we've had at Disney over the years. I'm sure this is lots of fun to be stitching. I'm sorry you haven't been able to find your previous posts.

Maybe some of the things we miss will show up one day.

Look what has come out of the pillow case. I started this years ago (it's my second oldest WIP). The castle is a real *itch to work with all the blended needles (usually one strand floss and two strands Rainbow Glisten Gloss) and fractionals, so my new plan of attack is to work 10x10 blocks horizontally across the design (left to right, right to left). By doing this I can do the sections of regular floss, then the sections with the castle, and back to the sections with the regular floss, thus giving me a break from the castle. I was originally working from the paper chart but now I'm working from GoodNotes on my iPad. I transferred my marked stitches to the PDF on my iPad, which took awhile. I also mismarked some stitches so it will take longer to stitch until I get caught up with what was done before I changed my approach.
I'm working right to left right now and when I get to the left edge I plan on backstitching the castle as much as I can. Backstitching is not my favorite, so I do it as I go. There's a lot of it in this design.
Here's my current progress as of last night:

It’s fun to go back and pick up a UFO. When I saw this thread I read from the beginning and realized that was from almost 2 years ago. That long disruption had a fair amount of losses. I have made sure since then that I bookmark every thread. You have made some great progress since this came out of the pillowcase. Sounds like a good system for stitching so that nothing starts to feel tedious. On big projects like this one, backstitching as you go along also helps me because I can see it coming to life as I stitch. Not having to wait till the end. I am so looking forward to your updates!

This is such a beautiful, colorful design! I also love the colorful cat themed design covering your stitching frame.
This will be fun to watch!
I also have a son who married into a Disney family. (they got engaged there and went on their honeymoon there too)

My son honeymooned there. His wife’s brother got married there. (Apparently that’s what happens when two Disney families join,

I've rolled back up a bit to do as much backstitching as I can on the castle. The backstitching instructions on this one are ridiculous:
The "grey" being referred to is simply a slightly lighter black and is a "cog" type design. All of the other backstitch lines are the same thickness and same black. EVERY SINGLE ONE! I've scanned just the parts of the design that have backstitching and am using that PDF to highlight what is to be done in the metallic and what is considered grey. After I do the backstitch, I highlight again in a different color. What a pain, but the effect is worth it. I don't think the metallic backstitching shows up enough, so I'll probably go over it with a slightly darker metallic. I hope I have some at home and if not, 123stitch will surely have what I need.
Okay, enough complaining. Here is where I left off last night:
