I turned the page upside down and Yes it does!
Strawberries hang down from the plant so you have put the right perspective on this design.
Exactly what we have come to expect I might add.

Well, phooey, I wrote a reply to this yesterday and I could have sworn I posted it but it is not here

sorry Mabel.
Wow, how did I miss this lovely horse, he is looking fabulous already, there is such a fluid movement in the hind legs and tail.
Amazing Mabel, simply amazing.
The Strawberry is delightful, your stitches give it a lovely texture, as well as the couched threads looking like the seeds.
And yes, when I used to grow Strawberries they grew out of the stem and then their own weight pull them down towards the ground, so your orientation is spot on.
It's gorgeous.

A bit more progress on the strawberry - it's been outlined and I've started on the padded satin stitch petals. The instructions don't say to do a split stitch outline first, but I find it makes for a nicer edge.

Ooh that Strawberry looks good enough to eat!
The satin stitch petals are looking lovely and have a lovely soft rounded look to them.

this design.

Melbury Hill has some lovely designs, and I'm enjoying stitching them, but the kits do have some drawbacks - the design lines are quite thick, so sometimes it's difficult to cover them up unless you add some stitches; and the instructions are fairly minimalist, so for a beginner they can be confusing. I worked on one of these kits with a student, and she said if she had tried the kit on her own, several times she wouldn't have known what to do or how to stitch an element.

Good idea to outline with split stitch
Also if as you said that the outline mark are a bit thick it does ensure a good coverage.
Love this BTW.

The little flowers are finished - here's a close-up of one of them. Tonight DH has the third of his 6 Zoom meetings this week

so I shall get on with this!
