Glendon Place Amazing Desserts SAL - Status Update!

Gosh these are just going to be so amazing. I really wanted to get in on this but had no funds for it so I'm excited to see them stitched up. Of course everyone knows where they can send the patterns to when they no longer want them LOL Keep up the wonderful progress.

I will be happy to send you mine when I'm done...but please, don't hold your breath.

I knew when I was stitching Plum Pudding, that there was something wrong with one of the colors that Glendon Place sent. I purchased the chart, fabric and threads directly. As you can see from the photo. Mountain Mist, which is the second row (= is the symbol) is not what the picture shows and definitely isn't any shade of purple. A lovely gray. At first I thought it was one of those times when the cover photo isn't really how it looks. But I think I will have to contact them. Both skeins that they sent are this color


which may explain why both kitties, who are no longer mad at me, preferred napping in the sun to helping me stitch!

Great start on this and I do hope that they will get back to you quickly with the information---I'm with you and Rose---I think they've made a mistake on that color!

Thank you both. It really is a lot of fun to stitch. I sent off my email and included pictures, plus the link to their own picture of what the floss pack should look like. I knew there was a reason that I stayed away from kits, though this isn't technically a kit, but I am pretty sure I would have done a few other different shades or a bit more variegated. Not that I can't change it now, but if I do another of their designs, I will make my own choices. I'm sure they will send me the right threads now.

I agree, that color seems off. I looked it up on 123stitch and it definitely looks like it's missing the purples. But your work is beautiful and the design is going to be sooooo pretty!!!!

I knew the girls would forgive you - they just like to lay guilt trips on us. They're so sweet - I love to see kitties sleeping with their heads upside down. Sometimes Jackson will lay like that and just look around - I guess the world is just more intriguing upside down sometimes.

I've decided to sit out the SAL. I decided to move this coming summer, and I've been packing/decluttering/trying to liquidate my quilting fabric stash. Between that and a vacancy at work causing me to work a lot of extra hours over the last 3+ months, I figured it was best for me to concentrate on my 3 cross stitch WIP's and not add any new ones for now.

rcperryls - I also bought Plum Pudding as a kit from Glendon Place, and here's what's in my kit:

My Mountain Mist ones are a pale dusty purple. They are a close match to (but a bit lighter than) DMC 3042. I also have the same color in my Rainbow Parfait kit, and it might be from a different dye lot but it's basically the same pale dusty purple. If yours are grey, either they didn't go a good dye job on that lot or they were mistagged somehow.

Posted mine on Sunday. Should be getting replacement skeins by the end of next week or beginning of the week after. Hopefully they will be closer to the color in the picture. If not, I'll just find a replacement color. I love the progress that y'all have made on yours. My plan (which I will probably not stick to) is to stitch on this one the last week-end of every month. Or the first week-end. Or in between HAEDs. Or...
