Great to hear about Chad's progress! He certainly seems to have kept his sense of humor too. Really hope all continues to go well and he gets into Rehab soon.
You're doing an amazing job too!

So Chad's just progressing along and me and his brother were really starting to get excited because he was doing so much stuff. He's really trying to talk a lot now. So right before Thanksgiving, I finally got him to say my name. I would ask him every day "what is my name" and he finally said it! Then I showed him pictures of the cats and he points to the correct one and then I showed him this video of them fighting and he was smiling and rolling his eyes. So then we have this family meeting and the doctors tell us their is no way he will probably ever go to rehab and he would never be able to tolerate it and blah blah blah...then there was mention that he may get moved back to new york if he is going to need 24 hour care..so of course that depressed me to no end. Then that weekend, his ex contacts me to tell me that she is taking him back to court for child support. Chad just starting getting social security benefits at the end of november..his ex is getting the same exact amount that he is because the kids get benefits under chad's social security which is twice the amount he was paying before the accident, but she still wants more money out of him. I was like what the heck..not to mention chad is still in the hospital and can only say a few words. So yeah, one more thing to deal with. But Chad is still improving. He has a new wheeelchair he gets into every day and he's really trying to talk. Yesterday he kept saying whatever to everything. And he still has that sense of humor. His lunch literally looked like dog poo yesterday and when I took off the lid to show it to him he burst out laughing and gave me this loook like "seriously you aren't going to make me eat that" then he sniffed it and refused to eat it. He's also super affectionate. Always wants to hold my hand or give me kisses. I think these doctors are wrong about him going to rehab..guess time will tell.

I am so glad to hear he improves every day. And I am sure that your belief in him, your love means more than all the doctors together.

Great to hear that Chad is still fighting and doing so well with it too. He will teach those doctors a thing or two before long I'm sure. It must be so heartening for all of you to see him improving.
As for his ex, sadly there are people like that in the world and I hope it can be sorted out real soon.

So glad to hear that Chad is improving quickly. I don't understand the doctor's attitude. Chad's ex sounds very insensitive to me; hope she backs off soon! Continuing good wishes for Chad, you, and your family.
Wow, so glad he is improving - just read your story of his accident. How awful for you all - sounds like he was very fortunate to have survived. Take care and hope he continues to improve every day!

I am so glad that he is making such great progress!!!! Don't let the doctors deter what you are doing and I really hope they are not telling Chad their negative attitude. It could really derail him.
As for his ex I hope she roasts in hell. Why do people like that get away with such stupidity.
I hope to hear more good news soon.

Ker, it's so great to hear how well he's doing. Doctors have a tendency to look at worst case scenarios. My Gram was told that after his motorcycle accident, my Pa would never walk again. Before he even left the hospital, not only was he able to walk with a walker, but he could walk short distances without it.
So glad to hear Chad is progressing. But it'll be a long haul, love, after such a severe injury, so try not to get upset that he's not in rehab yet. A lot of little steps means it takes a long time - but every little step is progress. The day will come.
