Nice! I’ve never mastered a really good split stitch, which is why it’s probably not my favorite (of is that the other way around?) But under your needle, it always looks neat.
Thank you - I've had a lot of practice with Hengest and Ethelnute, and that has definitely helped me get more regular. Once you get a rhythm going it's a very useful stitch, especially for lettering (it's a horror to unpick though...)

Stitching group today - six of us there again, and at the next one (in two weeks' time because next Monday is a Bank Holiday) we hope to be seven. Two more wanting to come back in September, and two I have still to contact, but it looks like we will have most of the regulars back after the summer, fingers crossed.
I took the orange tree, and decided that the green design lines showing around some of the leaves were annoying me after all, so I took out the straight stitches and put in more bullion knots. Have also started on the second cluster of oranges, which uses woven wheels.

A lovely update on this bright cheery design.
I agree! There is something about this design that makes me smile!

I'm hoping to get back a bit more to Hengest and Llandrindod in between the Certificate, so this thread might languish for a bit.
There's also a goldwork design which I want to enter in a competition/exhibition in aid of our Church's new building, but which Stitch magazine has also expressed an interest in as long as I can get everything done (stitching, notes, instructions, stitch diagrams, progress photos) by mid- November. Sounds like a lot of time, but it flies! But there are some very tempting kits in my stash as well, so who knows...
