:applesauce: Looks great. Its amazing how fast crocheting can be when doing granny squares. Xan is going to really be looking forward to cold weather.

Carmen Isla was born on 27th May and I have now finished her blanket! :)

ImageImageImage

I discovered one little link-up I'd failed to attach, so I added a little pink flower to cover my teensy snafu. ;)

My Mam may be coming up this weekend for a visit, so if she does, I shall give the blanket to her to take back for my cousin.

Now to start stitchng the little birth sampler I've designed to go with it...

How ADORABLE & I  the flower!!! :applesauce:

(My Mom once told me that the Amish women always put in 1 error onto their quilts, so as not to make something "perfect"....don't know if I believe it, but it's a neat enough story!)

:applesauce: That is so precious. I love the flower. :applesauce: And I heard the same story that Diana heard but I was told it was Pennsylvania Dutch. Have no idea if its true. I always have at least one mistake in mine, so I never have to worry.

Carole, you & I are in the same boat, then! (& I think the Amish are a part of the whole Pennsylvania Dutch, aren't they?)

Such an adorable blanket Kell  ! I am always super impressed with anyone that can knit and crochet - it is so nice to be able to give a gift that is handmade like that!

Me too - but you know what? Basic crochet is dead easy. Find a tutorial on Youtube and give it a try. It works up so quickly - I barely have to look at it so it's great to do while I'm watching TV. This is my first ever proper project - I only ever did a few little squares and a headband to practice a few different stitches till now. I basically worked this up in about a week all told, and Im' quite proud of how good it looks too.

I'm looking forward to seeing Xan's finished (it's nearly half done), and then working on one for myself - I'm thinking black, white and grey for mine. :)

Lovely!!!

The flower makes it Perfect!!

I've heard the story about the Amish too!

I think Carmen's little fingers will soon find that flower and love playing with it!

That flower is just genius! It adds such a nice quirky touch.

(I heard the story too about not making something perfect, but about Arab rugs :thinks: )

Progress on Xan's blanket - it's now about 40 inches square. Another two or three rows to go, then the border and it's finished. :)

:applesauce: It is looking great. Isn't it wonderful how fast crocheting goes? I'm almost (but not quite) tempted to start it again.
