They look fantastic and I have just looked back at your first post it has taken just over two months to do these It would take me that just to get started!! Well done you has your friend found out about it yet or is it still a secret until she gets hers?
I had a look back at the date of the first pic too, Nettie. Should've had these done by now..
They're still a surprise, but only just! She sent me a text very early yesterday morning, saying she's coming round to drop off my birthday card. I replied quick 'don't come til after 8am! we've only just got up!', so i could quickly hide them and the beads, patterns etc. She didn't smell a rat, luckily, she only asked 'haven't you finished those bells yet?' (they're parked in the corner on a hoop stand).
I've started the backstitching on the tree, and done some of the beads, very slow going; i've had to put them the other way round on the frame so i can get at them longways...the next pics will explain it better.
The only thing superglue sticks is..its own lid on.. Cats were considered gods in Ancient Times..they haven't forgotten this. "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing their's...."
Here's the beginnings of the beading and back-stitching..
..the bugle beads for the candles take up 4 stitch spaces, not 3 like it says on the pattern, so some of them overlap the stitches a bit. All the long stitching on the tree are a pain to keep them taught.
(i've left the angels shoes off deliberately, cos i think they look a bit odd sticking out the bottom. If i've got enough beads left at the end, i might do a row of them across the bottom of their dresses instead; like some of the bigger angel pics have.)

Ha, aye that a moot point M, do angels even have feet?! They make their feet look like they're stuck out on an awkward angle too, a bit like the shoe is on the wrong foot. I made a start on the wisper this morning, its not too bad to work with but i still don't see its appeal. I'll see what it looks like when its done and have fluffed it up.

..i'm doing any more today, i'm quitting while i'm ahead. I changed my mind about doing beads along the bottom of the angels skirts, cos i had a slight accident with the packet of beads just as i was about to start sewing them on.....i twitched, 3 times, yep all over the place they went!! And then i knocked my pattern stand flying, pen, pencil, 2 patterns, notes, all over the place.
I think i'll go find a big stone to hack at instead, something genteel to spend the rest of today doing.... Not much else you can do when your hands are like bunches of bananas
