Re: What's Next ... Title help needed!

Thanks for all your suggestions. The best idea I've come up with so far is Stars Above, but I'm still not 100% on anything yet.

ladymyste, I use software to make my designs, but I'm still mostly doing them by hand. The software is just useful for printing off charts.

What's Next ... Title help needed!

Okay, so I've finished my giiiiiiiant cross stitch, so what's next?

I've been pretty lucky this year in that an Australian magazine editor found my Etsy shop, loved my designs and has been commissioning projects from me. For my third project for her, I've designed something especially.

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

I posted in my blog about this.

Offe, you will find a nice little surprise in there too. I mentioned your website, because I stitched one of your designs this week. Very cute!

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

Sadpingu, if I knew you in real life, I would give you a big, fat, sloppy kiss right now.

This seems to be working. I'll post again once I'm finished, but it's looking good.

I can't think all you guys enough for this. I was absolutely ready to give up.

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

Yes, the more I think about it, Sadpingu's post describes exactly my problem. I'll give this a try tomorrow and let you guys know how it went.

Sadpingu, if this fixes it, I'm sending you a present!

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I've been refusing to think about this for a couple of days.

Sadpingu, I will give that a try because it sounds like an interesting idea.

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

Thanks for all your input guys. I've pretty much decided that the whole thing is a write off.

Here's how it looks after washing and a very vigorous ironing:

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

Well, it's been washed and I tried ironing while it was still damp. It didn't work, the creases are still there as strong as ever. I'll try a few more times, but I'm a bit discouraged. I'm starting to think this is going to be unfixable.

Re: Big projects - Help with creasing!

The big day is today! The stitching is finished, the guide lines have been unpicked (which took a week and a half all on its own), and today is washing day!

Fingers crossed that this solves my creasing problem.

HAHAHAHHA, that's the perfect response too! I'm a swearer as well. Just imagine how many swears were uttered during the course of stitching.

Re: Mary and Angel

Update: I've finished stitching!!

http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv134/StitchesbyKryss/IMG_1070.jpg

I now need to unpick the guide lines, wash it and iron it, and hope like hell that the creases come out!

I can't believe I've (almost) finished it. This has taken me three and a half years ...

Re: How many stitches???

Holy mackerel, I'd never even heard of a laying tool!

I find my speed depends on whether I'm working on a large area of one colour, which I can get through pretty quickly, or changing colours lots, which means more fussing around on the back.
