FO - at last!

Post by mysterystitcher »

You may ask, what FO means. Finished Object. That is what it means. Next you may ask, what I have managed to stitch. I don't know if any of you remembers one certain engagement present. That is what I have finished. Just go and see from my blog. The image is there. Don't panic about the hairbrush. It is there only to prevent the curling of the canvas.

Nice job :applesauce: When u say "needlework", it isn't cross-stitching, is it? What kind of stitches did u use?

Thank you for your compliments! I admit I've been thinking a white, simple frame...but is it a kind of...understatement of the project? I just ponder it...I know the person who will frame it, may know it better.

To be precise I think it is needlepoint. That's why I call it 'needlework'. I don't dare to call it cross stitch, because I use stamped canvas instead of blanco one the stitcher should count. Math is not my strongest area, but I can handle the colors, at least somehow.

My plan is to stitch a wedding present to the same couple and take it somewhere, where the canvas will be framed in a way it deserves.

That's a beautiful piece. I wish my color vision was good enough to allow me to try the stamped needlepoint. I've done a few counted canvas pieces from charts, but I haven't tried n/p on the traditional fabrics.

Thanks for the compliments! I have no courage to try the counting. I'd make a project full of mistakes.

Hi!
At last I can declare it! What? One flower wedding present! It is as done as I can get it. At the moment it is in this shop. The owners will frame it and the engagement present of this couple. I'm so relieved! Now I can look in the eye of the happy couple without feeling any regret. I did my part on time. Now it is up to the staff of that shop. I have done all I am able to do.

It will be packed, when it will be back. And I have put both engagement and wedding present inside of that package. But as I said, follow the link of my blog. There is a picture of both, even they are separated. Now I can finally concentrate on that horse.

Oh, that's a shame! :( I have seen them in your blog, but it so nice to see finished things framed. Framing adds such a great deal to a project!

Never mind, though - maybe you can show us your next project in it's frame! :) So long as it isn't a ready-wrapped gift when it comes back from the framers!

How can you bear not to unwrap it and have a look yourself? I wouldn't be able to resist!

It is a wedding gift. I am not a bride. It is not my gift for myself. It is my gift for someone else. I know...I am a bit nervous about how they look like, but one of them will have an oval, white frame with some gold.
