Learning to do new stitches

Trying to find out more about ATCs, I came across this website. Perhaps you have seen it before? Every week a new embellishment stitch is taught and by ruffling through the archive, you can start at the beginning with herringbone stitch. Suspect French knots are in there somewhere!

For anyone trying to learn intricate stitches -- this week is bullion knots -- it looks like a fabulous resource.

Oh what a great site, I've never done hardanger before, but would like to give it a go one day, so I've bookmarked the page for future reference. There's some really pretty patterns.

Hardanger is a very pretty stitching style. I have not done it only because I have so many cross stitch patterns and projects to do that if I started the hardanger they would get left behind. I have seen some beautiful stuff done but I am keeping to the cross stitch that I already have more then I can do in this life.

Thanks, Serinde, I've put a favourite search on ebay for the book, I think I might give it a go next year, after I've finished stitching the cross stitch backlog I have at the moment!!

Oh, I just signed up for a six week on line class with her that starts in October. It's called A Personal Library of Stitches. I thought it sounded wonderful and full of information. It's on the Joggles.com shop webpage.
