I knitted a rainbow!

Post by wendywombat »

Last November I bought 1kg of multi-coloured wool from an ebay seller.

I've been happily clicking away with my needles and finished my cardigan yesterday   !

I had some perfect wooden buttons lurking in the drawer and the result can be seen here!!

Had my hair coloured today too!! :applesauce:

Beautiful rainbow! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I also had a look at your other stitched items. You've been busy! In addition to some lovely puffins (!), there is a real variety of interesting designs. I love the cut-through rocket! It must have been fun to stitch.

Wendy your cardigan is stunning and will never fail to lift your mood if it is grey outside, was the wool graded like that to sort of melt from one colour to the next? It can't be different balls of wool the way it is done surely?
You are clever and more to spare, what are you going to do with the left overs?
Happy knitting

That's fantastic, Wendy, what a lucky find that wool! And you are really very skilled - I always have problems with knitting a cardigan (although I much prefer them to pullovers).

Thanks Glen
It was from an ebay seller in Lithuania! The wool was random and I just knitted as the colours came.Just had to make sure that the fronts and each sleeve started on the same colour. As the ball were 100g in weight and only 4ply they went a loooooong way! I've enough to knit a jumper too!

Thanks Agi
If you'd seen how many times I did those button bands you'd change your opinion!! And I knitted one of those sleeves twice too as I'd mis-read the pattern when increasing!

Thanks Wandatoo,
Well you know like Puffins!  That Rocket was fun....although as others here have found, it's best to do the backstitch as you go, there's more than enough of it!

And thank you every one for your kind comments

It looks lovely you are so clever to make something like this from odd balls, :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I can knit but wouldn't be able to do that
