hello,
I am new here and new to cross Stitch, I have done it at school before but that was many years ago. I am hoping I can grab some advice and hopefully get going with some simple stuff. I am more of a designer so am going to try and design some kits.
hope everyone is cool

Welcome to the forum it is great to have someone join with such enthusiasum. It would be great to have a designer in our group.
A couple questions... what have you done in the past? Did you do a kit project or did you work from a chart? Either way you can pick up and go again any time. In the general section I have posted a glossary of terms that may help you. It is a work in progress.
There are beginner kits that will give you everything you will need to start right up.
Some items that you will definetly need:
scissors
needles
some form of frame to hold your work
and either a kit or fabric with a chart
a kit gives you the thread already a fabric/chart combo will require you to buy thread also. This is a very basic list, but it will get you started.
If you are going to try designing you will want to look around the web and see all of the different stitching programs and buy one of those. I use the PC Stitch Program I have version 6 and just got Pro. They are fast and easy to use.
Good luck and join in we will do what we can to help with any questions.

Heya Rose, thank you very much for the info!
When i was at school we all had to design a cross stitch and then make it up... it was so long ago though.
I have only just decided to look into doing it as i have a bit of spare time and i like designing. I like doing cartoons and maybe i will get to make up some original designs for people... we shall see.
I will let you all know how I am getting on.
