Dear Secret Stashmas Sender:

I must confess that I do not yet have a large quantity of stash, and more is always appreciated! Among other wants:
A pair of nice embroidery scissors
An 11x11 Q-snap

Feel free to pick and choose! I'm not picky and will appreciate anything! :)

Thank you!

Hopefully I am quite easy to please!?

I like any threads as I am building up a collection of all sorts. Fabric, I have quite a lot but would like to try hand dyed. I also like the dmc aida that has a background pattern on it (can't remember what it is called)
I use loads of plastic bobbins. I am a chart rather than a kit person and love flowers, or scenic designs.
But generally, i love anything to do with cross stitch!

Would it be an idea to make this a sticky now that lots of people will be consulting it for Stashmas?

To my Stashmas Sender,

I really don't mind what I receive! It'd be quite nice to receive something that you enjoy or something a bit different. The only thing I ask is not to receive anything with a teddy on it. I've done a few lately and I think I could do with a break from teddy bears.

Oh and the brighter the better!

Merry Stashmas!

My stashmas sender will find I am easy to please.

I'm really hoping for bits of interesting fabric on which to experiment. I would be delighted with recycled offcuts or left over bits in interesting colours and blends. Same for pearl cottons so I can play with combinations of colours in hardanger.

However, it might also help to say that although I'm not one for cute or sentimental, I'm very fond of good strong design in almost any subject. Surprise me!

Dear stashmas sender,

I have been a good girl this year but sadly haven't had much time to do any stitching due to my little princess arriving. Due to this I ask not for kits, but for something to inspire me to stitch again. Something small might be nice, rainbow colours loved, 'Charlies Ark' might help. Love all the sepia things with a touch of colour. Maybe something to do with Christmas. Lots of Reds and Golds. I use mainly Anchor and DMC threads, and find a use for anything I get. I'm into fairys and teddys and lots more besides. My cats insprie me to do things sometimes. The only thing on my wish list is more time!

This may seem confusing, but secret sender, whoever you are, you will find something spectacular I am sure. Just trust in your first thoughts and go with your first idea.

So secret sender, Merry Stashmas and a Happy New Year!

Could I just raise a small point, what will we do if the post strike goes ahead and carries on for a number of weeks? Just worried that people will send out to there stashmas buddy and get delayed or heaven forbid lost in all the backlog.

To be honest I think we cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Last year people generally mentioned when they'd sent out, so then we the organisers (the only other people who knew who the packages were going to, oh the power!) could keep an eye open and be aware that, for instance, I'd sent out so you should be expecting something coming along in the post soon. If we try to get into the habit of that it'd probably be a good idea, that way we can keep an eye on what should be going where, and if the post office hire the thousands of temp staff they've been slated on the news for talking about hiring we will hopefully be OK. But seriously, cross your fingers and continue to hope!

I'm just waiting for two people to let me know their address details then we can sort out the last few senders.

The response to this has been really fantastic and I think we're all thoroughly looking forward to it! As I've mentioned before, "stashmas day" is 1st December, that's the target date to get things to your recipient. Obviously postal strikes happen and the post slows down generally at this time of year, so that's not absolutely set in stone, but it's a target. If you get your gifts early then please let us all share in the excitement with lovely pictures!
