Technical Help Please - Having Trouble Posting ... ALL SORTE

Post by Slinky »

Perhaps someone can assist?

How best to describe this? When I am typing a new post - as I am doing now - I am entering my text into the little box, and I can see what I am typing.

All well and good.

But if I type more lines than the box can accommodate, the scroll function (of the text box) doesn't seem to work, and the box constantly refreshes to show only the top of the text.

The text is being entered, but I have to manually scroll down to see it.

As I obviously cannot manually scroll down and type simultaneously it means I am effectively typing 'blind'.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and how do I solve it? It's been like this for about 2 weeks and is getting REALLY annoying!

Many thanks

Now you mention it, I have. Windows Explorer update. It's happened since then.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction ...

A-ha! Chris has come to the rescue. It is indeed a glitch with my recent Explorer update. To remedy the 'broken' page, I needed to click on the 'broken page' icon to the right of the address bar at the top of my screen. This is the 'Compatability View' button and fixes the problem.

So now I know. Thanks, Chris!

I had that exact problem and clicking on that broken page at the top solves it completely, so you can get back to normal posting now. :D

Thanks for re posting this here, it caught me out on another forum the other night.

I will have a quick look today to see if there has been anything done about it. Untill then the compatibility view is the way to go if you are using the latest version of IE.
