The Cat poem has come out great Barb and hopefully Lumpy Cat will enjoy a nice big comfy pillow - then again knowing how oddly our cats behave she may ignore it until you finally get some cool weather.

You forgot to mention the daytime temps of 36 or so every day over there. Thankfully our days are sensible under 30's most of the time with cool nights now we have come into autumnal weather.

Hope you can get a battery for the camera soon, so we can see the European Bistro progress. Your hottie bottle cover sounds a great project.

Progress on European Bistro...

Image

The middle of the table at the bottom is the halfway mark, so I have not reached half way yet.

I changed the fabric from what was in the kit to a lighter shade of grey and 14 count.

It's fairly easy to stitch, just very big and when i finish there will be a huge amount of backstitching. I was going to do some when i hit the half way mark, but still not sure yet.

great progress, I have this kit in my stash and seeing what it looks like makes me want to start it next, one question though the chart seems to have alot of 3 and 4 stand stitches is this how you are doing it

Hi, yes it does have 3,4 and 5 lengths of thread in some of the half stitches. It really does make a difference and looks great although I was a bit worried when I started it. But the different thicknesses of these stitches make a huge difference. There is also combined colours, some with 2 threads of one colour and one thread of another colour and a HUGE amount of back stitching in various colours but no half stitches.

Can you do me a favour since you have this kit..i no longer have the original fabric as I said, I swapped it but am interested to know what the closest DMC colour is to the original fabric. about 95% is fully stitched, there is only a small area at the top that is not stitched but I am thinking I might stitch it in the original colour so would greatly appreciate your help.

I only swapped the fabric as I can only see 16 count white and the colour was too dark for me to be able to stitch it...i think it was called dove gray. I knew that before I bought it but loved it so much, i decided to take the gamble and it has worked out fine.

Looking really great Barb and congratulations on getting to the halfway mark, always a lift up on a big project. You are going so well with this. Sometimes it is good to do some back stitching before the end rather than leave ones self with a large amount of back stitching - unless you like doing that of course.

hi barb thanks for the reply, I found the key chart quite complicated to work out, so thanks

the colour of the aida is dove grey, hope you get threads to match
