Madder than a wet hen!

Post by wendywombat »

Well we have all talked about our WIP's and had polls on DMC v Anchor threads and I know I am living in an Anchor free zone. Which is why when I started my Lovely poppy design I made sure that I had plenty of threads to finish.
Well..... Last night I was just starting the last 2 leaves in the grey/brown thread and looking forward to the best bit, the 2nd red poppy. (I'd left that to savour at the end.) That was when i discovered that .....I HAD RUN OUT OF 2 of the grey/browns. I am SO cross!!! :( I could SPIT!

OK feel better now I've had a bit of a rant. Thanks for listening my friends.
Mind you it's a good excuse to do a bit of Electronic Shopping. Yippeee

That's ok, it's always good to vent off a little steam.

Wow, DMC for 29 cents? Anchors are 78 cents while DMC are 99 (87 cents this week, on special). I tend to favour DMC due to their quality and vast and diverse colour range, although I don't favour the price :( That's why I tend to splurge and buy bulk when they're on special.

Have a good day everyone!

Wow! That is next to NOTHING!!

I'm so sorry Wendy, that is so frustrating, especially as you have to order your threads and can't just nip down to the sewing shop.... :? Hope they arrive speedily for you!

Also what a good excuse to buy lots more!!

I've managed to break about 6 of my size 28...(so tiny they break sooo easily) so I just ordered some more today, but it not worth the postage for just a few pounds so I've treated myself to the entire DMC varigated set of skeins.

I think a good ol' splurge will definately make you feel much better about running out of thread!!

OHHHHHHHH that is so frustrating. I hate it when that happens. Hope you have something small to work while you wait.

You can all try e-bay they sell on there for a pretty good price and some of them wil ship for free. That was how I got the entire DMC regular color collected.

Just thing stash lots of stash.

Oh and Raelou keep up the good work you will feel better and have loads of new money to spend on stash. Heres wishing you the best. :P

Well done raelou. My DH, son, daughter and son-in-law all quit smoking about 18mos - 2yrs ago after reading Alan Carr's book. I was so pleased, being a non-smoker - Cant have your stitching smelling of stale smoke!!!!

You are all so lucky - Dmc is $1-40 per skein here in NZ. I have managed to get some cheaper through our online auction site TradeMe.
