Everyone finishes there as they see fit. Some just stick it to a paper card, some use felt, some sew it like a biscourne. Any way you wish to finish it off is fine it is your choice.

Here's mine - I couldn't get my camera to focus very well as it's so small - normally I use OH's phone to take pics of small things but he's 80 miles away for the next two weeks. :(

Anyway, just in case it's not clear enough to read the words, it says "a stitch in time.."

The bobbins look so real -- did you do them in satin stitch?

Those bobbins look 3D almost like you stitched them and then glued them on to the card it is so great.

The bobbins don't even look stitched to me - they look like real bobbins!! Great job :applesauce: :applesauce: Put mine aside for a few nights to design a special project for myself, but I'm almost done and it will actually be my first fully finished piece, so I'm excited to get it done - hope to have pics up later/tomorrow!

Sorry, folks, I haven't visited this thread for a couple of days. Glad you like my effort!

The bobbins are indeed satin stitch. I cross stitched the "card" ends of the bobbins and then did satin stitch in between to make it look like they actually had floss wrapped round them.

The needle is done in that horrible Anchor metallic stuff I used on my 12 Days of Christmas Sampler.

Also you can't see in the photo because it's too blurry, but my border is alternate green and yellow running stitch on the outside and green half algerian eyes on the inside. (I think that's what they're called!)

I am sorry but I am going to have to withdraw from this exchange. I hope I am letting people know soon enough. My father passed away and everything is just a mess right now.
