Day 4 -

Image

This is the absolute farthest I've ever gotten on this. Actually farther! I did a considerable amount of frogging, and a bit of adjusting. Along the back of his neck, there are some larger holes. I hope these will shrink with washing, otherwise I might need to add small border around the rooster....ughh.
I see everyone else's incredible work, so it inspired me to keep at fixing the mistakes to make it the best I possibly can get it. Esp. for my 1st one.
Found a great use for the thread grid as well! I use it to hold my "extra floss" out of the way while working with other colors.
Once again, thanks so much for all the encouragement - it is really helping.

I am glad that you have made a great start. It really looks wonderful. I hope the holes you are worried about will adjust themselves after you wash it. :)

Glad you're making such good progress with htis! Don't worry too much about the holes, it may depend a bit on how long the threads were in there before frogging, but I've found in the past that washing and ironing always got it back to at least an acceptable look and usually just back to normal!

Oh, finally! I am finally getting somewhere with this. The gridding is such a help. And I am enjoying it, too. This is becoming so exciting! I am looking over future projects already.... horses, tigers, lions, sea creatures......the coming SAL looks a bit beyond my ability.
Here is my latest update, 2 days worth done. I started backstitching the comb, eyes and beak. I've never backstitched before, so I hope it's going right!
I am off shortly to have my remaining two wisdom teeth extracted, so probably won't feel much like doing anything at all.

Holly he is looking so good. What a wonderful project to work on. So very glad that Mags could help you over the hump with her gridding suggest. Looks like you have found the right combination to help with your stitches.

Good luck with your wisdom teeth.

"getting somewhere", she says modestly -- you've done loads! Lovely to see his proud head.

Good luck with the teeth *ouch*
