Re: Celtic Ladies -beads
It's to hang on the kitchen wall just behind me here (as i'm sat with my back to the kitchen door) on the one bit of wall thats free. My kitchen is black & cream so it'll go perfectly.
Also last weekend we finally hung all the angels and fairies back up in my daughters room; we decorated it last summer, she chose bright blue. I thought the pic's would all clash horribly with the blue, as i had them all framed to match the pink she had before. They don't, they look even better against blue (not one of my fave colours, but i don't have to live in there ).
Autumn coming up next, i'll start a thread but there's nowt to show yet

Re: Celtic Ladies -beads
It looks gorgeous - bet it will go well in your kitchen. I'll be over for a proper look soon, promise - what with dead computers, changing job, Si moving back to P'Boro and foul weather I haven't been anywhere for ages!
Looks like we're going to get a bit of sunshine on and off now so Gilbert might be able to pay a visit with me an' all!

What a lovely finish this is. It's such a clever idea too.

Re: Celtic Ladies -beads
Oh wow it looks amazing
Can I just ask a quick question, you know the ladies (your first project in this thread) working on that glitter aida, is it harder than normal aida? This might be a silly question to some of you but I think it looks so pretty and was just wondering as I have never used it before

Re: Celtic Ladies -beads
I've used a couple of fabrics with metallic threads in them, and found them no more difficult to use than any other fabric (a 20ct opalescent and a 14ct white and gold). Sugar Maple fabrics might be different though.

Re: Celtic Ladies -beads
I have used opalescent evenweaves (Silkweaver & Polstitches), and evenweaves & aida with metallic threads. The aida I found no different from ordinary aida, but with the evenweave the holes were sometimes a little less defined, more difficult to see, because the opalescent strand seems to make a sort of "fake hole" in the thread of the fabric -- what I mean is that several times I found myself sticking my needle through the middle of a thread where the opalescent strand was, rather than in the actual hole between the threads. Does that make sense? (If not I'll see if I can photograph it so it shows what I mean)
