I have a DMC rayon no30326 but not sure if it will be dark enough, I also have some Madeira threads which I was lucky enough to win in one of the cross stitch magazine comps, I have never got around to using any as I often work from complete kits. I have a red one 04 4015 but is says it is a metallic but it looks very different from other metallics I have used, so I might just try them before I send for Eterna. I don't mind the cost of the silk but it's the postage that could be expensive just for one thread, ( I suppose I could order a few colours) :thinks:

That's the spirit :-)!

Two ideas -- I've got a very dark burgundy silk/rayon thread; if you know roughly how many strands you need, I could send you some to see if they'd work.

Secondly -- when I first entered my details with Eterna, I got a $5 voucher; if you spend less than $10 they add a $2 handling fee, but if you buy 10 silks that's $10.50, and the voucher will probably more than offset the postage (I bought 40 silks, and postage was $8.45). Not that I'm trying to convince you to buy more stash, of course... (perish the thought :-))

If you'd like to try before you buy, I could send you a few strands of one of the silks as well as the rayon/silk -- it may not be enough for a project, but it should give you an idea of whether you like them enough to buy them :-)

That looks absolutely amazing. I so love the design. I think I may just have to add this chart to my collection.

Oh Mabel that is really sweet of you to offer but as I am not in a hurry I have decided to order a few anyway, good reason to add to my stash (not that I really need an excuse) Also I must try to experiment more with different threads, materials etc and if I order these threads I will then be more inclined to try them on other projects. :D

I havn't done any more as when we were away with friends I didn't get the chance. I wish I could ask for more stitching hours on my wish list

I love the way they've designed the fabric and the folds -- and it's coming on very well!
