This is amazing - I wouldn't have the patience to start it. The shading is super.

This is a stunning design, it is quite Celtic looking.
I've been looking for something just like this , what size is it, and can I ask you if it was expensive (too near Christmas!).
I don't think I have the patience for all the blackwork but it would probably still be nice without it

Go to the Ink Circles website (inkcircles.com) and check out the pattern. I bought it complete with the threads (being lazy). The blackwork really makes it, and is neither hard nor tedious. I've enjoyed every stitch, and blackwork isn't my forte.

I'm working it in 17 x 17 inch q-snaps, so it must be slightly smaller than that (and on 32 ct fabric, I think; whatever it is the designer recommends). Lazy.

What a beautiful ,intricate design. I have never done anything smaller than 14 count but i have always wanted to try. You are doing a wonderful job :)

Why not try one of the monochrome Ink Circles designs (like This Heart of Mine or I Still Do), or some other monochrome samplers (like Long Dog Samplers or Pelin Tezer's designs) or smaller designs like the Tantes Zolder ones? In that way, you can concentrate fully on the smaller stitches without having to worry about colour changes and confetti stitches, and for added interest (although most of these designs look great just as they are) you could treat yourself to some pretty variegated threads and/or special fabric!

I got some extra money from the school for good work  - and I have ordered this.
I ordered with the threads, too, but they replied I will have to wait for the threads because they don't have them in stock. I hope I won't have to wait long, though!!!!
*so excited*

Oh, Agi! How wonderful! You will so enjoy stitching it.

Want a tip? mark where the top of your fabric is (otherwise you'll turn the frame and your stitches will not all cross the same way. As I discovered. :ribbit: Also mark the centre stitch. It really helps with the counting.

Thank you for the tips, Serinde! I was just going to ask you about it. Just one thing - you said you were using 32 count. Is it important to do it on evenweave or is Aida OK? Are there fractionals?
