Sarah's Dreamcatcher - FINISHED!

Post by Sarah Gixxer »

This is the new project which is to replace the sunflowers, for me to do at work. I bought the kit off ebay a few weeks ago as I love dreamcatchers and have four hanging up in my flat and one tattooed on my back! So now I'm stitching one. Here's what the picture looks like.

And I couldn't resist starting a little bit. The fabric is great, a kind of mottly beige colour, almost like hay or something.

I don't know, TB, it just says 14 count Aida on the kit. I've never seen it before. The kit came from the US. The picture didn't really show the material very well, but it's beige with little flecks in it of darker beige and cream and it's much softer than normal Aida - not stiff at all, but it still stitches up nicely without a hoop or frame.

Hi Nettie, yes it's a nice easy chart. There's not all that much stitching involved, just various feathers and things and then backstitch for the verse. This will be going to work with me on Monday for whenever I get a free half hour.

It looks like rustico aida -- it's certainly very effective with this design!

Fiddlers cloth is pretty stiff, so I guess it wont be that, but it's pretty anyhow and as Mabel says, perfect for your design. :D

Mmm, maybe it is rustico Aida then - it's certainly lovely to work with. I did some more today. It will be relegated to work only from tomorrow, but I was keen to do some this weekend as it's new and the colours are all so lovely! Here's the next update.
