Azzurri
Anyone used this yarn? Saw it wool shop last week, lot of different colours and I fell in love with 'em. Sort of fuzzy texture. I preferred the brown/ fawny shades, but I got this one 'cos I wear jeans a lot:
Opinions on knitability would be welcome.

Re: Azzurri
Oh, only a boring old cardigan or maybe a waistcoat, for myself. I also got the light brown shades as well, early last week. Will prob do the cardigan in the brown and the w/c in the blue. Both with pockets. I hate clothes with no pockets! Which is why I wear jeans and not skirts or dresses.
I'm currently knitting a striped cardigan for myself crepe yarn, in shades of light blue and green with a narrower white stripe in there as well. With pockets, naturally.
I do a fair bit of knitting. It's actually a good thing I've retired, or I wouldn't have time for all the stuff I do, lol!
But don't get me going - I'd bore on forever!

Re: Azzurri
Oh! Hadn't thought of posting pics of knitting! But I will. The stripey crepe job will be first, 'cos it's nearly finished - just half a sleeve and the borders to do - and the stitching, of course. Hate that, especially when I have lots of hanging threads from the stripes. Ugh! Why did I decide to do stripes!?

C-F, you must get some and have a go, it's so easy to do the basic things and then you'd be able to progress up gradually. You'll enjoy it, it's nice.coffee_freak wrote:i pass the yarn at the shop and would LOVE to start to learn knitting..i walk by and touch them..so soft..and the colors are beautiful!!
FD, I'm looking forward to you posting pics on these now.

There are sites on the net and books that show you how to do basic stitches. It's very pleasant to do once you have the hang of it, and you can start with small, easy things.coffee_freak wrote:i pass the yarn at the shop and would LOVE to start to learn knitting..i walk by and touch them..so soft..and the colors are beautiful!!
My gran taught me to knit and I can remember knitting teddy bear scarves full of dropped stitches, lol! My first 'real' bit of knitting I did out of my own head plus a bit of observation: it was a cardigan for my little ted. It was brown, with orange ribbing. I wasn't shown how to shape the body for sleeves, nor how to shape the sleeves, but I had seen gran and mom do it, and I think I must have done it more or less right, because it all fitted together well and he looked very smart in it! I was SO proud! I had even made buttonholes! I think I was about 8.

Re: Azzurri
Whew! Just finished the last bits of knitting - the pocket borders - so all I have to do now is stitch it up, sew on the buttons, and let it 'relax' until dry between damp cloths. I'll post a pic of it Monday.

Re: Azzurri
And here is some more Azzuri:
The one I have started is destind to be a waistcoat, for me. The fawn shades will become a cardigan, also for me.
Having now started to knit with the Azzuri, I can tell you that it knits somewhat like crepe - and it actually looks like a fuzzy crepe - but makes a much denser fabric, so I think it will be warmer.

Re: Azzurri
Thanks.
And yes, the Azzuri is nice, imo. The chap in the wool shop said it is currrently his most popular yarn, and I'm not surprised because there are some lovely colours.

I'd agree it's lovely! I think it looks warm and fuzzy too, so snuggly.

It looks really good. And how does it feel? Is it soft and warm to touch?
