Thank you Ladies for your lovely comments. 
My only dilemma now is having spent the last 8 months handling this project almost daily, what do I tackle next? 
Since finishing that on Thursday night I haven't done any stitching but I have been bored stupid. 
I think I need to unpack some boxes (ready for house move on the 15th) and get my aida, threads and charts back out. I only packed them becasue I thought I'd still be stitching as we moved!!

This is such a "wow!" project -- you are very rightly proud of it!
Take your time deciding what to do next; perhaps just do a few small things until the next big project just leaps out at you, grabs you by the shirt and says, "here I am -- stitch me!"
