 Many apologies, but it's been hectic today, and I didn't have time to go back home to pick up my works bag and get back in to the city without being late for work.

A partial update showing the craft ring with most of the bobbins attached - note that at least 5 or 6 of the bobbins all look like the same shade of white  they ARE different shades, honestly

...and the most recent pic

I've actually stitched a little more than this, but it's mostly been individual confetti stitches, so there's not a great deal of visual difference yet.
Having said that, I've got a day off tomorrow (Mon) so hopefully should be able to get at least a few more hours on it

This is coming on fabulously Daz, you're really quick with it.
Oh, and looking at all those shades of whites and greys there, I admire your progress even more!

Looking good Daz, well done. Don't you just love it when you have the day off and you know you are going to spend is wisely on your stitching.

It's one of the (very few) advantages of working unsocial hours.
and I may even get to stitch some Xmas card designs on a quiet night shift 8)

Thanks for your support!
I've honestly had some major headaches trying to fill in some of the blank areas with the darker shades over the last few days.
Stitching with "ebony", "anthracite black" and "pepper black" on to black Aida is NO fun. So I'm going to pop in to my local stash shop at lunchtime today to find out if they have any white, water soluble markers - the idea being that maybe I could highlight the fabric and make it easier to see what I'm doing. :thinks:

I'll also be getting prices for daylight lamps etc as possible Xmas pressies

Also, no update pics today because the confetti stitching in the dark colours hasn't made very much visual progress

I think after a while of using black aida, you develop a sense of where the holes should be. It's a bit like Luke Skywalker learning the Force - that bit where he's wearing the helmet and fighting that little floating ball thingy on the Millenium Falcon.
If you use black aida often enough, you will develop the ability to wind bobbins using only your mind...

:D
