Freelady's projects

Post by freelady »

This is a pattern I'm testing for Mel. It has about 12 colours (at least) in what I've done so far. I looked at the chart and colours and just knew I'd never see the colours and would need a grid to work from. And I really can't tell the colours apart and am working purely by counting for the most part. Maybe it will get easier when I get further along. Other than that, it is nice to do. Again it is 14 count aida. I don't have a good pic to show of what it will be like.

It must be great to do such different designs. Keep your interest high with different colours and the different coloured fabrics etc.
You've made great progress on this already.

Well this is interesting..

That would be fun .. if not frustrating to do..

Question... it looks like your cloth has got blocks of 10 in the pink squares.. do you do that?

I never thought about doing anything like that.. I'm assuming it's like what a stay stitch is used for in sewing.. something you take out later.. but there for guidence..

Interesting idea..

That would be interesting to work with. Not sure I would like it though. I will enjoy watching how it all works out.

It can be a bit frustrating when you have to go purely by the thread number and counting, but the effect of such close shades is often spectacular, so it'll be great to watch this develop!

It is challenging but as my other projects have all had shading and single stitches I figured I could do it. I find the result is worth the effort.

Norman, the pink stitching is 10x10 blocks and is called gridding. I knew I'd have to grid to be able to do this at all.

And my real reason for doing it is my David Beckham mad daughter. She's loved him from the first time she saw him. For years her bedroom walls were covered with pics of him! She can't wait to frame this and have it in her room - but he's good for getting jobs done.....would you please do xxx so I can keep working on David

Isn't it great to have a bargaining chip with kids to get them to behave or do things around the house?? I do the same thing with privileges that don't come around very often to try and get my 3 & 5 year olds to behave.

It's my good self that Sheila is kindly testing the pattern for. I think we all agree she's making fantastic progress :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Thought I'd pop a pic on so you can all see what it is she is working to well to achieve.
