Finished!Footprints - started 27-9-08

Post by flumpz »

Well - I finished one yesterday & immediately got started on this new one! I have a new method of keeping flosses & marking charts I am trying out to see if I can learn to cope with (for me) the dreaded colour charts!

This is what I am doing -

Image

and this is how far I have got with it -

Doesn't look like much but I've been surprised by how enjoyable I am finding the writing & also how LONG it takes!

Mum's birthday is next Monday - I showed it to her today though as if she didn't like it her alternative pressie was a couple of daylight bulbs! But she did like it! In fact - I might even have to do this one again - for myself - we'll see how it goes!!!

I LOVE the footprints verse.
(I plan to stitch a similar kit for my mums birthday in March, so will be watching this one with avid interest)

I love the picture with this verse as well. It's really fitting. :D
You've made a lovely start with the wording and just think, you still have the gorgeous picture to get to as well!

I really like this one! I just finished a footprints pattern about a month ago. I think the only version of this pattern I've seen has been stamped (printed) cross stitch. I think doing the lettering is always interesting, but it can definitely be time consuming! Especially with this poem. It's looking great! :applesauce:

Update time - I finished the writing (bar french knots) on Wednesday ...

Image

I then started on the left part of the sky which is all 1/2 stitch BUT I made a bit of a cock up - I did all the 1/2 stitches & thought something wasn't quite right so I checked the instructions & found that I should have been using 2 threads for all colours except one but I used 1 thread for all of them! So back I went & stitched everything but the palest blue again - I'm hoping it won't be obvious when I complete the right side of the sky that I made a mess of the left!!

Well here it is up to yesterday ...

Image

I'm triple checking everything now so hope I don't mess up again on this one!! Still - it's a lesson learned!
