Small update - it's not finished yet, but I'm NEARLY there. No time at work again yesterday but I got an hour in this morning before I left home and managed to backstitch around most of the points on the sun. It's very tedious, but another couple of hours should have it done.

Thank you... well I'm nearly there. I just finished all the backstitch - YAY! All I have left now is a few horrible french knots scattered about and then it's completely done. Then I can at last get my "finished" picture on here.

Well I'll pull up the old magic bench and break out the chocolate while we're waiting then.

i cheat a little when people want french knots i use beads if its for a preasent or someone who wouldn't know. most people love it and i dont tell them the beads arent supposed to be their. i hate doing french knots

:D

Very often when you change things about a design, either to fudge a mistake or because you don't like doing the stitches that are in the design, no-one notices except you! Like when you give the recipient his or her present, with your fingers and toes and everything crossed hoping they won't notice that the bottom left hand stitch should have been cream not white, or that the middle bit is one line off because you miscounted, or indeed that the beads "should have been" french knots -- and they just say "thank you so much" and "how beautiful" and "what a lot of work you must have put into this" and "isn't it detailed!" and that sort of thing (or if you're unlucky, "oh, yeah, thanks...") and they never notice it :-)
