fccs’s Book of Mythical Creatures 2/29/2024

Post by fccs »

For my birthday start, I am doing a story keep from Randal Spangler. It’s a SAL with a friend who also started a Spangler design today, Leap Day. I’m stitching it on 25 count easy count, and this is what the design should look like when finished:

And this is where I stopped for the night:

I think Spangler's designs are really cute. How are you getting on with the easy count fabric? I've been curious about it, but have never used it -- seems a no-brainer for a couple of big HAED designs I have lurking, but something stops me from buying any.

Are the lines permanent? not a problem in a HAED as it's full coverage, but I wondered.
The dragon is a cutie :-) - isn't there one with chocolate as well by that designer?

I think this is the third time I’ve used the easy count and the lines do wash out, with a lot of soaking in hot water. For full coverage pieces, it’s just so much easier than gridding by hand.

As for the chocolate, yes. Spangler’s draglings love chocolate and it’s featured in many designs. I just love his little draglings, and I like dragons in general. When I was working at Sam’s Club I was talking to a customer about dragons. I think she was wearing a dragon shirt or something. Anyway, I told her I would love to have a dragon, a little cute one who could sit on my shoulder. He’d be a good dragon, but he would be able to breathe fire when I needed him to. She looked at me like I was crazy. Go figure.

They are most definirely itty bitty! My eyes keep reminding me.

And today’s progress. Now it’s time to pack it up as I fly home tomorrow.
