2024 St Cross Stitchers Hospital

Post by Serinde »

No Hogmanay casualties, I'm glad to report, so Dr Tiny Cat and all the nurses are playing cards in the reception area. Let's hope the year continues as it has started.

My new slate frame has arrived and I can't be bothered to unpack it because of feeling horrible with what now appears to be confirmed flu. Sniffle.

Dr Tiny Cat has left various prescriptions for you: bed rest, analgesic to help with the fever and extra liquids of your choice (apart from alcohol, for the time being) to keep you hydrated. Your single room has everything you need within reach, and the staff are always to hand. Tissue supplies are limitless.

Help! I've dropped below 8 stone for the first time in my entire adult life  Admittedly only by half a pound, but perhaps Dr Tinycat can prescribe hot chocolate with marshmallows?

And cream cakes of all sorts.
Enjoy it!

Hope things improve with the aide of that medicine.

Richard

Extra liquids of your choice was the prescription! a very large (and magically refillable) mug of hot choc plus marshmallows is by your elbow!

DIL, bless her, cooked us some Romanian meals that just needed heating up. Romanian food is hearty! Haven't checked weight but if that didn't put a couple of pounds on I don't know what will

I’ve never had Romanian food. I’m sure it was good and I hope it helps you get back that lost weight.

I'd offer you some of mine, but I suspect the Romanian diet will be less messy!

Sooooo I've been cleaning my yard and I've pulled a muscle...in my boob! I didn't realise that was possible, but go figure I'd do it the year I've been having so far

You can pull muscles anywhere, I think! My ribs are aching at the moment from coughing, and I suppose that's not actually the ribs but the muscles surrounding them

But… how? I wasn’t using my boobs to clean the yard 😅

I hurt my chest coughing last year and it turns out I’m asthmatic and the cold air was triggering it.

Glad to hear it! What would the neighbours say? Intercostal muscle strain? That would make it the upper ribs, in your case. Lifting and twisting to carry something(s) in the garden, perhaps? Whatever it is, you need to rest it (ha! I know: child; stuff needs done; rest? what's that). Sorry you're having a bad year. But it's only March, so lots of time for stuff to improve.

My garden has 6ft walls, I could actually garden with my boobs and they wouldn't notice
