What a handful! They have started early, I see, on training their human to chauffeur them around the country.

When you don't know the scale, it looks like an individually wrapped sweet!

A friend of mine decided I needed a zoom microscope for my birthday. The first thing I looked at was my newly washed fingers  I need to do better before doing my stitching

I also rescued this young Bullfinch who tried flying through my windows:

Image

Why is it with birds that once they realise you are no threat they sit on your finger and don't want to get off until they are fully recovered. I peeled him off my finger after 30 minutes and sat him in the bird seed tray, to which all the blue and great tits had to come and find out why he was not eating their sunflower seeds.

What a great picture! And how lovely that he trusted you so fully

I was looking at my sewn box yesterday and realised that the slight grubbiness on the edges where I forcibly had to squeeze it to fit into the outer box is probably because my fingers aren't as clean as i thought they were...

That is a beautiful photo. If I can find it I will post a photo that my DH took years ago when a hawk was chasing a mockingbird I think and both flew right into our sliding doors and collapsed next to each other. The smaller bird recovered first and got away before we could even help it.
I'm sure that is something I will not ever see again.

This, I fear, is all too familiar. We have two fleabags who refuse to eat eachother's brand of wet cat food and mug us when they can see the bottom of their bowl, even if the other is full.

Richard.

So true! My cat in California, Kitty, would eat the food in the center of her bowl and as soon as she could see the botton of the bowl, she'd let me know! If there was enough food I would just flatten it out so she could eat the center again. Yes, she had me trained well.

Very, very recognisable. Except that Lexi is more likely to put on the Puss-in-Boots look to convince us to top her up.

Rosey thinks starvation is near when the bottom of the bowl can be seen. She makes sure I am aware of the food crisis which is on the verge of happening. I usually accommodate her but sometimes I just jiggle the bowl and cover the bottom and she is satisfied until that big looming empty spot (the one I can barely tell) reappears.

One of Jackson’s favorite sports is pushing things off the kitchen peninsula. He likes to watch them fall. Cats are weird.
